Our Story
My love for cats has been lifelong—I’ve shared my home with cats as long as I can remember, each one bringing unique joy, warmth and love into my life. Over time, I saw a pressing need in our community for TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) programs to help our local colony and community cats. It was clear that these cats needed someone to advocate for them, to protect, and to give them a chance for a better, healthy life. I started Paws in the Sand Cat Rescue because I believe in second chances. I wasn’t always given one myself, but I know the impact that chance can have. These cats have so much to give, and all they need is an opportunity to show it. This rescue exists to give them that chance. For every cat we save, we are giving a beautiful soul the chance to live, love, and be loved in return. Thank you for joining us on this journey to change lives—one paw at a time.
Our Mission
Paws in the Sand Cat Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of cats in Southern California. Our mission is to rescue cats from high-kill shelters, and rehome abandoned cats, giving them a second chance at life. In addition to rescue and rehoming, we are devoted to managing and supporting community cats through Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) services. This humane approach reduces the number of unwanted kittens and promotes healthier cat colonies. By partnering with local shelters, veterinarians and our local community, we aim to create a safer environment for all cats. At Paws in the Sand, we believe every cat deserves a chance. Our work is driven by compassion, dedication, and a commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of our cat communities.
